  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 ½ cups beef broth

  1. Heat a large pot over medium heat. Sauté the onions and garlic until fragrant, about 3 minutes.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in the tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, and oregano. Cook for 2 minutes to toast the spices.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes, beans, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
