This rich, flaky chocolate pie crust is the perfect base for any dessert, from creamy mousse to fruit fillings. Easy to make and deeply chocolatey, it’s a recipe you’ll come back to time and time again.

- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3–4 tbsp ice water
- Optional: ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, sugar, and salt.
- Cut in cold butter until the mix resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add ice water until dough comes together.
- Form into a disc, wrap, and chill for 30+ minutes.
- Roll out and press into a pie dish.
- For no-bake fillings, par-bake at 375°F for 20 mins.
Notes
For deeper flavor, add a pinch of espresso powder or orange zest. Always chill your dough—it makes all the flaky difference!
